Brief Note: Cricket Format Once Thought to Be Extinct, Rediscovered at Lord’s
A group of cricket historians have returned from London with exciting news: a format of the game, once thought to be extinct, has been rediscovered at the Lord’s cricket ground. The form, known as “Test” cricket, is described in local folklore as a game of men in sweaters playing during breaks between tea.
Celebrations may be premature, however, as this is only a match between England and West Indies, and the year is not 1984.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled IPL match number sixty-something.
Purple and Orange Forever: Kochi Tuskers Fans Cope with Loss of Long-Held Traditions
Fans of the long-dead Indian Premier League franchise, Kochi Tuskers Kerela, have formed a support group to offer fans with an outlet to vent their anger, gain closure and reminisce about the old traditions of the fabled team.
“We feel like our childhoods have been snatched away from us,” said Mr. al Busaidi, a 43-year old lawyer from Oman. “The Kochi Tuskers weren’t just a cricket team. They were a way of life.”

Editorial: Old-School IPL Afficionados Must Warm to Exhibition Cricket
The game of cricket is under siege. There is a war being waged at every level, and recent comments made by a prominent former cricketer have brought matters to a head.
The growing format of Exhibition Cricket is being attacked from all quarters, particularly from representatives of the Indian Premier League. If cricket is to remain relevant in 2012, it must embrace all new forms of the game, instead of regressing to the ivory towers where the elite few pass judgment on the masses.

Some Team Will Play Some Other Team in the IPL Today
In a stunning reversal, some team beat some other team in the Indian Premier League today. In a thrilling last over finish, that batsman hit an amazing array of shots around the field off a random bowler. The random bowler had bowled three exceptional spells prior to that over, including the wicket of one of the batsmen.
When these two teams met earlier in this edition of the IPL, something exciting happened.
This match now leaves the IPL points table in a precarious position. Each of the teams is separated by some points, and one of the teams needs to get their act together if they are to make the next round.
Tomorrow, some team will play another team in one of the pivotal encounters of the tournament.
